During a virtual convocation at the University of Northern British Columbia in June 2021, Marcel Gagnon, a member of the Beaver Clan and Elder of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation, is to be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Mr. Gagnon is an accomplished musician, having released four albums, two of which were nominated to receive Juno Awards. Additionally, Mr. Gagnon has worked as an advocate for individuals with FASD and has served as an addiction counselor in the corrections system for 20 years.
